No apologies needed, you come first re a good recovery.
However many thanks ,I for one was very concerned you were doing too much too soon but being honest I was really missing RootsChat as well.
It got us through Covid so well it ought to have been on prescription!

It was a bit cheeky of my neighbour’s little girl !
However they are a bit like that themselves ,filling my bins etc as I don’t have as much as a family of four but you would expect them to put stuff in the correct bins re colour coding etc
Last time it was a large amount of cardboard in the waste food bin———if the bins aren’t closed then for some idiotic reason they  don’t get emptied ——-?
Mine wasn’t because of the cardboard , when as they are over -full they really need emptying .
Bury Council logic!
But not worth getting into an argument ,I might have won with an eight year old though!

Lovely sunny day again ,a bit  fresh .

A flipping great wasp was in my bedroom last night ,I was reduced to spraying with the bathroom air freshener .Otherwise taking off the alarm and finding the insect spray which is in the kitchen sink unit.I’d had the window open all day .It was really big at least four  cm.
Not sure if that makes it a hornet.

Well you lot are delaying me again !
I am glad to say.

Cheerio.
Viktoria.

At this time of year the wasps are single queens looking for a place to build a nest. They're bigger than the usual wasps we see later.

We had a wasp nest  when my daughter was at school, really a beautiful thing , looked almost like a hat, I think our daughter took it to school, I steer clear of anything that sting.
We did have our first fly yesterday indoors, sure sign the warmer weather is here, it didn't last long

Several bees are buzzing around now and I have seen a couple of ladybirds, too.  The birds are going mad and I am having several "conversations" with our blackbird, which responds cheerfully when I whistle a song.

It's so lovely to enjoy the warm sunshine, but didn't March come in like a lamb, so are we looking forward to a lion ending to the month?

Really enjoying being back with our friends on RootsChat.  Trystan, you and Sarah deserve a medal for services to the community.  Get better soon. :)

Gillg, the ladybirds you have seen were hibernating in my bathroom.  They arrive every year and form a cluster in the top SE corner of the room.  At first I thought it was a mouldy mark and climbed up to deal with it, then retreated and left it alone!  A couple of weeks ago some of them had a little wander round.  I left the window ajar during the day so they can exit.  Then suddenly they have all gone.

People at my art class were commenting about how many ladybirds were around. I only had one in my kitchen, managed to get it to crawl onto a piece of paper and took it outside. I thought if I waved it about it would fly away but it hung on, I ended up putting it alongside a leaf for it to crawl onto.

I see the New Replies problem has been resolved, I guess that's thanks again to Trystan. I'm pleased to see that the poor server isn't quite some stressed.  ;D

Have a few ladybirds around, here in Tamworth.  And I did rescue a couple of bumble bees the other week, who didn't appear to be happy.  They were just about crawling around, so I consulted Mr. G and it was suggested feeding them with honey or sugar.  I managed to move them onto some flowers and then spread a very small amount of honey next to them and some sugar.  When I next looked they had disappeared - I'm assuming they made their own retreat.  :-\ :-\

LM - we've recently had repairs to our guttering and a large wasps' next was found.  Then I remembered - the nest was destroyed some years ago by a local controller.  ::)
