The Harris Boys
« on: Yesterday at 12:11 »
Hello there restorers,

Just received this historical photo, Ok its not great quality, its a scan from a scan from a historical Manchester/ Salford Newspaper cutting from around 1946, I apologies now for that as I know you guys may well not have anything to work with but please have a go for me, the picture is of an old Pub Football team around 1946, it contains my Pop, his 4 brothers, 3 brothers in law and 3 nephews, making -up the whole Pub team. Its family history gold for me.

Thank you in advance?  :-*

Oh my that's fab, now I can see how good this has turned out, may I be cheeky and ask for some color to modernize the pic and maybe loose / fog out the cyclist and houses in the background, thank you so much Loord74. :o

colorization process is based on Radiometric Reconstruction. In black and white photography, the film captures the 'luminance'—which is the amount of light reflected off a surface. Since different colors reflect light at different frequencies and intensities, we can map those gray-scale gradients back to their original chromatic counterparts. This ensures that the colorization respects the physics of light and the original textures, rather than just 'painting' over the image.

Got it (I think), as the proverbial footballer may say "I'm over the moon" with the end results considering the age and wishy- washy condition of the original I posted, thanks again for your time and efforts, very, very much appreciated.

Regards, Peter. :-*

PS: I have used this site for about 17 years and have never been disappointed, big-up to all the Colorist on here.
