Inquest February 1881
« on: Thursday 05 March 26 15:18 GMT (UK) »
I have a Death of a John Tate who Died at a Pit in Easington on 11 February 1881 and an Inquest on 12th February 1881
But the Death Certificate doesnt give his Home address or whether he was Married and had a Widow Jane
so we cant be sure it is him.
Can anyone find a Newspaper Article that week that gives more information ?

Sorry, I couldn't find anything on FindMyPast's newspapers.

Coincidentally there was a report of an inquest in Seaton Carew (roughly 10 miles South of Easington) on 15 Feb 1881 into a fatality,  in which a man named John Tate was a witness.

Thanks ShaunJ that agrees the Death Cert and helps
Thanks Everyone for your Input
My Sister in Law had her Ancestor go to Ohio in 1866 as a Miner from Easington
On the 1870 Ohio Census with Wife and 3 Children all born Durham
Then in 1872 her Granddad John Thomas Tate was born in Ohio
Yes Milliepede - The Next Information shows Jane Tait on Durham 1881 Census as a Widow with her 4 Children
It was thought John Snr died in a Mine Disaster but we dont know if it was in Ohio and the Widow and Family came back to Easington
I found this February 1881 Death and assumed it could be him but the Information doesnt really clarify if it is him.
