I wondered yesterday - and still do today - if the couple were living separately and for some strange reason were described as widows.

There was a child Simon Fitzgerald mentioned by Neale.

I came across this death yesterday - 1904 Simon Atkins, 60 yrs of Beanfueld, Cork.
The informant William Fitzgerald, nephew, Clashmore.

Claddagh, is in the parish of Clashmore.
Hetty Fitzgerald’s place of birth is Cork in 1901.

You got there before me Heywood had just found same info so Simon Fitzgerald wife Mary Manning inherited Farm from Simon Atkins. I checked for children but no joy. Thank you for all your research :)
