Ancestry of the Kyrke-Smiths esp the name Kyrke

Edmund's parents moved around a lot but settled in Hoylake, Wirral in the mid 1860s. The only link I can find with the Kyrke-Smith ancestry is a tentative one through the famous Roe family but have discounted that because Edward SMITh and his wife didn't give any of their children a Roe moniker.
Endmund appears to have gone to sea and I can't find any link to the Kyrke-Smith ancestors other than a vague co-location (Liverpool).
