It was no trouble Caroline and yes, I was reminiscing about books I'd read! It didn't actually take me long because I could bypass whole groups, knowing that it wasn't written by the likes of Peter May, Ken Follet, etc etc.
I know what you mean about reading the book after seeing the film or vice versa. One that I came across in my Read books was Where the Crawdads Sing, a book I really enjoyed. Some time after reading it I watched the film, thinking it wouldn't be nearly as good but the film did stick to the story as written so I enjoyed that too. However, I'm with you on not reading The Dig after seeing the film, especially if you had to pay £5.99 for it!  :o

It's been a beautiful day here, wall to wall sunshine, it was pleasantly warm in the sun. In fact I felt overheated after my walk late morning. I gave in and cut the back lawn this afternoon, after ramming down the contents of the garden waste bin I managed to fit the cuttings in. The lawn looks so much better, fingers crossed that we don't get any hard frosts to damage it.

Hi All

Am I a robot?

I would reply ... No, but I am a Dalek  ;D  ;D

I am beginning to believe we are being told a right awful load of tosh these days.

I am told I can go to a website and see all my car finance taken out since 2007.

Oh yeah!

Last vehicle purchased with help was in 1988, that was last Century! Last Millenium.

Then I didn't really use Car Finance I went to the Bank, after a builder I knew told me what type of deal I needed at the bank and I hardly paid any interest.

Now the Doctor is telling me I need Statins and putting me under a right load of pressure, three times now. The young Receptionist said, oh that is not bad, her Cholesterol was even higher!

Another Doctor is saying that although the brain can get its own cholesterol, the body needs Cholesterol.

A third Doctor says if you have inflammation there could be a benefit with a statin.

But it seems Statins must have to interfere with Liver function to reduce Cholesterol?

However these odd diseases that they seem to have got into circulation now, need the Liver working very well!

All the best, Mark  :)

It is also a bit late to educate people now at 60 plus, we should of been educated and had the fear of God put in us years ago!  :) about prevention.

Luisa Maude, I too have now to verify I am not a “ bot”——
I was told many many times recently that I could not use “ Viktoria” because there is already  someone using that name,——yes it is ME!
Sooo frustrating ,I was in fear and dread that I would be excluded from RootChat!
Life would not be worth living!!!

Hope those with relatives travelling in the war zones have some good news.
It is escalating so rapidly and there will be such anguish as people wait for news.
I will be thinking of them tonight.
I am sure many other RootsChatters will be too.

Look after yourselves folks and let’s hope there is some good news very soon.
Good Night and sincere sympathy to those so worried .
Viktoria.

Hello All

Yes, some live and work out there in those areas, they went there for a better life and found the locals beautiful and nice people and settled in very well.

Now those places are being bombed.

When I was down and in a bad place about 30 years ago she and her little brother had just been to McDonalds and she said to her Mum can we take this to Mark's and I kept the little toy all those years in my Map cupboard.

The general advice is to say little, so I'll not name her.

But families will lose and be grief stricken there.

Keep well everyone, Mark

Hello

Other countries in the region are complaining to the U.N. that their countries are being violated.

One news outlet said 11 countries are complaining.

Three jets shot down were from the U.S. and it is being reported and claimed to be friendly fire on some outlets.

A very brief update!  The bees have survived, and have now taken advantage of the sunshine, recovered and moved away.   ;D ;D

Hello All

I was going to say something further, but we'll have to wait and see how the complaints go.

Glad the bees are sunning themselves  :) lovely sun here too  :)

I was thinking yesterday about Viktoria's cough and wondered if your cough Viktoria was improving? I hope it is  :)

I was hanging the washing out 3 or 4 days ago and only about 100 yards away on both sides were individual men, outside with the most awful deep hummy cough sound imaginable.

A third lady on the Zoom meeting had a similar cough.

Take care all, Mark
