Catholic Baptism Records
« on: Friday 27 February 26 15:14 GMT (UK) »
I have three siblings born to Patrick Delany and Margaret Mansell, in Madeley,Shropshire. The family were Roman Catholic. Th three children that I know of are:
Mary Delany born 1811
Patrick 1812
Margaret 1816
I cant find Baptism records for them but I do have their marriages.
Can anyone help or advise?

The link on this page doesn’t work but there is a mention of Catholic records for Madeley.

Hi
There are transcripts of RC records here.
https://www.melocki.org.uk/MelockiSalop.html

Margaret seems to be the witness on her sister Dorothy's marriage at Shifnall 29.10.1810 to Samuel Jervis./Jarvis
Daughter Louisa bapt at Madeley 7 Aug 1816

Margaret bapt 8.9.1772 to Samuel and Ann Mansell Lilleshall
Dorothy bapt 19.12.1779 Wellington
And brothers Joseph 2.4.1775 and William Oct 1777 Lilleshall .
Samuel Mansell married Ann Haywood 5.2.1771 at Lilleshall.

That may explain the move back to Shropshire after their marriage in London in 12.7.1800 at St Marylebone. wit John Willeck the clerk and Frances  Richards

I can't see anymore children in London either

Thank you cider drinker. I'd found Patrick and Margaret Delany on the 41 and 51 census and their niece Louisa Jarvis is with them on both. It seems from looking at Louisa's mothers will she was entrusted into the care of Margaret and Patrick.
Can I ask where you were able to view the marriage records?

Hi
Yes the marriage record I looked at was on Find My Past.
I can send you a copy if you haven't got a subscription.
Pm me with your email address.

Ps the Patrick Delaney and Margaret Mansell wedding is on Ancestry .
I can do the same with that. They both sign so it might be nice to have their signature if you haven't already got it.
