I found this death entry which might be more likely to be my daniel's death

https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/files/civil/deaths_returns/deaths_1892/06030/4717250.pdf

his son Patrick present at birth - but looks like he was a widow so wife Margaret died previously

his son Patrick present at death
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

There are several Kelly /Kelly marriages that it is all very difficult to track.
I agoing to do two separate posts here for noting.
As you say, Griffiths Valuation shows Daniel and Daniel Kelly snr in Strawmore.
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01u8w/
Daniel - 1A and1B
Daniel - 6A and 6B

You can track these in Valuation Revision Books http://www.rootschat.com/links/01t1o/
Over the years:
6A is revised  to Michael Kelly - then Mary Kelly
6B stays as Daniel snr - then John Kelly

1A - Daniel
1B- Margaret, then Patrick

The years of change are shown in different colours but there are more expert people on here who can interpret these much ether than I can.

Hi Heywood that's really helpful - I didn't realise you could do that with the valuation records! Appreciate all the help.
Draperstown: Trowlan, Quinn, Convery, Kelly, McKenna, Griffin, Sergeant, Hamilton, Taylor.
Monaghan: Duffy, McArdle
Sligo: Egan.
Mayo: Loftus.
Dungannon: Reilly, Milligan, Ryan, Harte.

This next piece of information is for you to look at too.
I assume this is connected to a pension application - again there are better informed rootschatters to interpret the record.
http://censussearchforms.nationalarchives.ie/search/cs/details.jsp?id=40996

It seems to be an application from Margaret Kelly, the daughter of Daniel and Margaret. There is a reference to their marriage on the second image and to Mary, 6 months.
However, the groupings on the second image are confusing to me.
There is no reference to Daniel -apart from the note re the marriage so I wonder if the Kelly names are relevant to Margaret/Peggy Kelly and not Daniel.

The date of application - 1920?

The street address posted for the applicant - Mr J E O'Neill, Main Street, Maghera, Co Derry is, I wonder, someone of status applying on behalf of the applicant. As yet I have seen no connection.

I hope all this makes some sort of sense!

If you have Ancestry, the revision books are there and more easy to follow.

A witness- Rosey Kelly

This is Margaret Kelly Toner in 1901

Possibly, the daughter of Daniel Kelly, Strawmore

The key phrase on that 1851 search form is beside the caption ''Return searched by' which includes the clerks initials date and 'fam[ily]' not found - see over' - so a negative result.  So something in the provided information in 1920 was not accurate, i.e. date, names or location. (Note the extract made by, certified by etc are not filled in)

The details on the other side of the form are other Kelly families located in the area for reference.

Amended

Thank you for your reply.
I thought the family groups may not apply, but it was the marriage date - 1850 and the names of the parents which I thought might have been provided by the applicant and therefore may be relevant.
Good to know though.
So do you think it’s the right Margaret but the groups don’t apply?
