Death in St Petersburg
« on: Wednesday 18 February 26 16:56 GMT (UK) »
Anders Qvarntstrom died on 18 Oct 1851, aged 16.  In the attached picture, the first column on the right hand page states where they were born.  I cannot work out what it says.  Can anyone help?  Thanks.
Forgot to say, this is from the Swedish Church in St Petersburg, Anders was Swedish, not Russian, so I am assuming it is a Swedish place.

Hi
Hard to read unfortunately. The place could be Finnish. The name underneath is Åbo in Finland.

He was a tailor (skräddare).
His cause of death is unknown (okänd).
He was also unmarried (ogift).

Just taken another look. It could be Purmo in Finland.

He was born 8 Nov 1835 in Pernå in Finland.
He is recorded in the household church book in St Petersburg:

Thank you for that information Ian, and all the links.  Unfortunately not the line I am looking for, or at least so far not linked to the line I am looking for.  I am searching for a Qvarnstrom family who were tailors, living in St Petersburg around 1850-1860. specifically a father called Peter and a child called Carl.  They have eluded me for almost 20 years.

However that list of tailors looks very interesting so will have a wander through the pages.

Ok, no worries.
Can you post the names and dates of the Qvarnströms you're interested in. I'll take a wee look for you.
