I wondered if there is an explanation for John seemingly to have the surname Gafeel ??
His birth record is recorded as John Henry Rodda, and all later censuses as John Rhodda.

According to Google Translate Gafeel = Feel Good.

Some Welsh Speakers may disagree?

I see that John is only 3 and his mother Margaret is a widow. His older brothers are at least 10 years older than him so dependent upon when Margaret's husband died he might not have the same father as his older siblings and be known by his natural name.

Have you checked birth and baptism for him?

Gafeel is not a word in the welsh language and google translate is not an adequate translation tool.
Thanks
