There's a birth registration of a Richard Rodd on the GRO, Jun Qtr 1851, Merthyr Tydfil - mother's maiden name Box

Struggling to find a marriage for the Richard Rodda buried 13 Apr 1861 - on the '61 Census with a Margaret Ann, born Caerleon.

Whilst researching the Rhoddas I wonder if anyone can find a William John Rhodda born 28 July 1903 in the Rhonda in the 1939 Register (he is mostly recorded as just John Rhodda in later censuses and records).
His wife Lilian V Rhodda is with her parents in Penge South London in the Register .
They are both together in later Electoral Registers.

I wonder if he was already in the army so isn't on the 1939 register? There's a military record for a William John Rhodda who enlisted in the Royal Tank Corps 21 July 1924 aged 20 years 359 days. He enlisted in Cardiff, was a miner and nok given as mother Mrs Rhodda 198 Ystrad Road, Pentre. Also noted Section "D" A reserve 20.7.40.

Nearly forgot, army no 7876912.

I don't have the marriage certificate hanes teulu, the record on line has a very blurred middle letter, but so many other records confirm it as J.
Thanks Osprey, that is indeed him in the army record, also a later army record ,application for medals ,giving his address in Penge agreeing with that on the electoral register.
