Thank you all for the information.
My interest is in "patient" Helen Adams aged 45 at the time of her staying at South Park Terrace. It must be my ancestor as she is the only Helen Adams on the 1911 Census at that age in Scotland. There is a little confusion in that she is said to single and born in Closeburn, Fife - but my Helen is definitely married and Closeburn, Fife does not seem to exist. ( I've checked on any "Ellen" on the Census, as Helen was sometimes given that name on previous censuses, but their is only one, a married woman in Dundee. )
Helen's husband, Thomas is at home with their 6 children and his mother-in-law in Dale Street, Bridgeton. The youngest child, a son is just 3 years old, which suggests Helen was 42 when she gave birth to him. I'm no expert but could it be possible that Helen was capable of pregnancy at the age of 45 which led her to be an in patient at South Park Terrace?
