To aghadowey,
After looking at the list you posted of the tree on family search i now notice one is not correct.
6. Annie/Anne Peacock Thomson (c1869 NY/1873-aft.1870/1944) m.(6 Dec.1887 Manhattan) Henry Rider
Marriage- https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:24MK-XMQ?lang=en (birth years way out)
This is not the same Annie Thomson. She was born 11 April 1869 and died 6 August
1956 Green Wood cemetery. King's Co,Brooklyn NY. Married to Henry Rider.

Marriage of Anne Thomson in 1887 to Henry Rider gives her parents as William Thomson & Isabella McFarland-
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:24MK-XMQ?lang=en
Anne born April 2010 and Henry born June 2021 which are both obviously incorrect. Says Anne age 20 and Henry age 25 which is more reasonable. If Anne was born in 1869 then she would have been 18 not 20.

My mistake was, when starting to put together a tree, was using the information from the FS tree but forgetting to correct it when I found new information.

According to Green-wood Cemetery's burial records Anne T. Rider was buried 6 Aug.1956. Husband Henry DeKoven Rider buried 4 Apr.1943.
https://www.green-wood.com/burial-search/
Henry Rider would be a distant relative of mine.

Here's the marriage certificate of Anne THOMSON and Henry deKoven RIDER:

https://a860-historicalvitalrecords.nyc.gov/view/7891912

It says Anne would turn 20 on 11 Apr 1888. And Henry would turn 25 on 21 Jun 1888. Sometimes the birth years can be off, however.

Curiously, I recognized the name and signature of one of the witnesses: Edward Kindberg, who was a specialist in prints and engravings and was an employee of the antiquarian bookseller William Evarts Benjamin in the 1890s.

A tree on ancestry ....
Says Isabella died after the 1888 City Directory was compiled. I might get a chance to look at the ones after 1880, but probably not today.
Here are the City Directory listings for your William Thomson and all Isabella Thompsons from 1875 to 1889. The tree owner, or whoever found the information first, says about the 1888 Directory "this is the last directory I find her in, she has moved about 2 blocks away." I don't know which of the two Isabellas he/she is referring to, the one who had lived at 121 Varick since 1879, or Isabella J who didn't appear at all in 1886.

The one living on Varick can't be your Isabella because she is listed in 1879 at a different address from your William. And a person couldn't make a case that your Isabella is Isabella J because that woman only appears in 1888, and not any of the years before that.

Bottom line: I don't think he/she has the right death information for your Isabella.

--------
I briefly looked for Robert and Hannah in Canada and Scotland in 1911 and didn't find them.

Anne's sister Isabella married a Kindberg- wonder if Edward was her husband. I didn't follow up on the Thomson girls with thei children, etc.

Yes - Belle Kindberg is the other witness and she shows up as Isabella Kindberg, wife of Edward, on the 1900 Census. Here's the 1885 marriage certificate - second marriages for both - of Edward and Isabella Archer, née Thomson:

Isabella was only 20 at 2nd marriage so 1st one couldn't have lasted too long.

I wish I could find the images of the deaths at
https://a860-historicalvitalrecords.nyc.gov/
but they are not showing up. Even if I search only for 1877 records in Manhattan, there is nothing, although it looks like there are earlier records than that in the database.
You could request the certificates by number.

https://a860-historicalvitalrecords.nyc.gov/digital-vital-records
This shows what is available on there.  For Manhattan, they have deaths from 1866 to 1867, 1871 to 1875, and 1920 to 1948.  The rest are not digitized.

From what I've heard from others, the other years can be viewed for free at Family Search Centers.
