Many thanks for all your suggestions. To answer Margaret never married. The maiden name of her mother was Wherritt. I have a newspaper report of her parents marriage. The deaths that you found in York look to be the correct deaths. Definitely the death of William is correct. I think that a mistake has been made on the 1939 register particularly it is shown as two years before her brother rather than two years after.
