Bit of trivia if you haven't seen it.

Concerns schooling

"Class 1b.-Laurel McDonald, 1; Ronald Thomas, Marjorie Treloar, and Thelma Dickenson, equal, 2; Stanley Maulitz, 5; Marjorie Stevens, 6."

So, it seems likely at this point there was an adoption, though the difference in birth registration years between the birth to Stella Pressler and the birth to Clara and Carl/Charles I am not clear about ::)

Carl August William and Clara had a daughter in 1916 while they were still in Adelaide.

This article 1932 about Carl in trouble with the law over inappropriate photos makes mention of the girl, but does not mention young Stanley William Walter. Bit puzzling.

I'm wondering if Carl August might have been the father and him and Clara took him in and registered his birth as a late registration in 1928 and put their names on it?? Probably was easier than admitting what happened and or adoption. I have lots of scenarios running through my head  ;D

I think if the OP wants to look into it more both birth certificates might have to obtained and hopefully shed some light onto it.

EDITED TO ADD.. Stella would have only been 15 when she had Stanley.

Thanks to your great investigations, I can confirm that now that I have the surname of Pressler, I have been able to identify a couple of unknown DNA matches that have the same ancestry name. I have also been told that Stella May also had a daughter the year after, possibly with the same father, only being known as a 'red head from Ivanhoe'. This also makes perfect sense. I guess my next question is, "who is this red head?"
