ID a reference? - Blanche Lilian Hilton
« on: Friday 30 January 26 14:47 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Blanche Lilian Hilton married Joseph Gray, and on the document for 1939 there is green notes and wondered what they were.  Clearly she has remarried and struggling to find he second marriage and hoped this reference may help

Marriages Sep qtr 1962
FINCH    William H    (GRAY)
GRAY    Blanche L    (FINCH)
York    2d   1830

The green writing CR283 gives an amendment date of 12 6 86 - the date the adjustment was done not the marriage date

I thought it was a reference to a document.  I realise it is not a date of a marriage.  may I ask how you came to the conclusion so that if I come across this scenario again I can find it

The green amendments were done by the NHS.  CR283 refers to a change of name, there is normally a 3 letter code that shows which area the amendment was made.  It would have most likely been picked up when she used the NHS for some reason
