You asked for death of Jane Frances McCambridge but death is naturally under her married name Jeannie Lowry.
You said she was your ancestor so is she your grandmother or great-grandmother?
A good while ago I contacted the hospital looking for information from a relative who died their in 1951. Initially I had phoned but was told any request must be put in writing.
I wrote a letter giving my details, the details of the person (name, parents, husband, date and place of birth, details of all children, all known addresses, details from death certificate, death announcement from newspaper), and also my relationship. Since it wasn't a current patient the records are likely somewhere in storage.
A good bit of time passed when I got a telephone call one night from a doctor. She had been asked to talk me through the file in case I had any medical queries as some of the terms would not be used now. Not only did I get the medical details I wanted but in the file were contact details for two sons in Bangor and England and a file for another son who had been admitted with her (which detailed his career, military service, etc.).
