The death shown by Cass would be him, given the baptism record and Victoria's comment.

Is this him? NO - later newspaper reports give the sheep breeder's forename - Clive Squire

None of our business  ::) (although much of genealogy seems to be minding other people's business ;D)  but it's intriguing that he moved quite a way from Mortlake where he seemed to reside for a long time and used the surname with the added 's' while the records in Victoria are almost always without the 's'.

Judith

Well people make their own life choices and we do not know how long his wife Minnie had been in Ballarat or how long in the "Mental Hospital " there where she died in 1948.

One has the impression that one or the other of them moved on at some point and Charles partnered with Anita before he joined the WW2 forces.

They left the remote NSW area and both died in Sydney.
[ EDIT here.]
I have just been reminded that GRENFELL where Charles died,  is definitely not a part of Sydney.  It is a town in the Central West of NSW. So apologies.

A transcription of Charles' Death certificate would tell you more ,Victoria.

Depends how important the details are to you.

Sue

I think this Electoral Roll entry is also him - I discounted it because I mixed up Darlington in Victoria and in NSW.

1919 Squire, Charles, Rock Grove, Darlington station hand

Rock Station is in Darlington, Victoria and in 1924 it was owned by various members of the Dowling family.

It is interesting to note with that 1919 Electoral Roll sighting, Judith, that the Federal Election was held late December of that year and so the roll prepared and ready prior to that day.

On his WW2 enlistment, Charles gives his marriage date as 24 December 1919.
(wrong bride not withstanding!)

So, we do not see Minnie with him on the roll at this point.

She can be seen with her own family at home in Geelong.
(Details available if you need them , Victoria)

Good idea Victoria. :)

I did note that this transcription agent.....(cheaper option and perfectly valid)...has a little special currently.
