I have tried looking with no luck and I'm relatively new to this!

Andruchappelle, You are hardly new, but perhaps just want others to do the work for you.
You have another thread here.

Was it your intention to return to it, or acknowledge the huge amount of time given freely by Rootschatters to assist you?

Hi Neale,

Well, I would say relatively new to this considering the fact that I started doing research about 2 or 3 months ago, done an ancestryDNA test around 2 months ago, and am just getting the hang of using research tools, and also getting used to using this website.

I am using all the resources I have available to me to research what I can at this moment in time, and I have found a lot of information out through my own means.

I have come to a dead end with Valentine Atwood, and have used all the resources that I have access to trying to find information about him, and searched countless parish records for him that I have found available online. I didn't think that I was doing something wrong by asking if anyone could help me research.

I realise there are lots of people on this website that have access to many more resources than I do and are much more experienced than me.
And I kind of thought that the website was about people helping eachother in research and connecting through sharing information and helping eachother research? I've seen many people asking for others to do look ups on here.

I am very grateful for the people who have taken their time to help me on here so far!
Including you, I know that you found some information and shared it with me on my other recent thread, I am very grateful that you took the time to search it up.

So, although for some reason you seem to think that I'm 'hardly new to this', I am infact just starting out with it all. I hope that I soon get the opportunity to help others out with their research too.

I think your reply on this thread was quite uncalled for if I'm honest.

That is precisely what the forum is about. Rootchatters will make every effort to help if possible.
However, when there is no response from you, we are left wondering why. There is no way we know if the help given has been of use, if there is more we can do, or if it is just a total waste of time.

Well it certainly has been of use and is not a waste of time, very valuable information for me!
I just haven't had the chance to sit and read the replies on the threads properly until this moment.
But I really do appreciate all of the help and effort people put into helping others on here.
Apologies if it has taken me a while to give a response.
