Valentine Atwood

Hello everyone,
I'm having a bit of a hard time finding the family of valentine Atwood/Attwood, born in Sussex abt. 1819.
I can only find records of him in prison at the age of 18 and again at 28, but can't seem to find any record of his family.

On his marriage record it says his father is Thomas Attwood. I've found a Thomas and Sarah Attwood on the Weebly Romani site but the dates don't match up, and can't find any other Thomas Attwood in any parish records.

Wondering if anyone else is searching for attwoods on here?

Did he marry Mary Burchet in 1844? Father Thomas was a Tailor.  Valentine is just shown as full age occ labourer

1841 census Graves or Groves House Wartling Sussex - all b Sussex. In 1841 - Ages from 16yrs onwards were rounded down to the nearest 5yrs

His '41 census entry shows a change of occupation. In '38 when he stole the copper boiler he was a whitesmith. In '41 he's an Ag. Lab.

1851 shows her as 2yrs old with mother Mary Attwood & Thomas Attwood aged 5yrs. Mary us shown as marriec

In 1861 - it looks as though Valentine has become James aged 44b Wartling

Birth reg for Daughter Rosetta aged 3 shows mmn Birchett

The newspaper report of his '47 conviction has James Valentine Attwood. The prison record has Valentine Atwood.

Yes that is him Carole he married Mary and father was Thomas. Thanks!
