Help dating this Macperson photograph please...

The attached family group photograph was sent to me yesterday by a relative in Canada as it shows our Grandfather (back right) and Great Grandfather (front centre) and Great Grandmother (front right).

My Grandfather was born in Scotland in 1878 and I know from my research that my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother were born in 1850 (England) and 1853 (Scotland) respectively.  By my own guess I am thinking sometime after WW1 and perhaps early to mid 1920s as my GGF looks as if he is in his 70s, although I appreciate people back then generally looked older at an earlier age due mainly to various social and economic factors. 

The family lived in Glasgow, Scotland for all their lives with most of the men being employed by the shipyards.

Moving this up, as it has slipped out of sight.
I think around WW1 is probably about right. (I am not an expert)
Great-grandfather looks to be in working uniform - so photo probably before he retired. Perhaps younger than in his 70s?
Sometimes children can help with dating.
Do you know who the youngest boys is? He looks about 3 years old.

Agree with Neale. Uneducated guess here, but I’d estimate late war years, say 1916-1918.

Another way of looking at it might be to work on their ages and relationships. I think the 2 children would be around 10 and 2.5. The lady on the left and the man in the middle would be the older boy’s parents and the man on the right (your grandfather) would be the father of the younger child, with no mother in the photo, so comforted by his grandmother. (No guarantee it’s a boy but the hair parting makes me think it is.)

GGF & GG are wearing the same uniform?  With hard collars.
the other young man might be wearing a new fangled soft collar with a collar bar. When did they come in?

Collar bars were popular with Officers during WW1 & became a fashion item post war & into the 20's.
The young woman is the most fashionable with an outfit in a post war - early 20's style.

Thanks for all the responses, all the hints as to the time this photo was taken have been helpful. 

I think it's definitely post WW1 and taking the clues given by the young man (behind my GGF) and the younger boy on his right both wearing pin collar shirts I am leaning towards the early 1920s, about 1922 in my reckoning.

As suggested I have been looking at my family tree and attempting to match the approximate ages of the younger boys to the information I have.  Rightly or wrongly I have convinced myself that the man behind my GGF is one of my GF's younger brothers b1882, making him about 40yo at the time of this photo.  He married in 1908 and had 2 sons, born 1911 and 1918 which would make the younger boy behind my GGF about 11yo and the youngest at his Grandmother's knee around 4yo.

That just leaves the lady on the left who I believe his my GF's younger brother's second wife (b1884) so about 38yo at this time whom he married in 1920.  I couldn't find any children from this marriage on Scotland's People.

Hope all this makes sense but as always would welcome any comments on my reasonings.

Lastly, is it possible to download the restored version of the image posted by Peter (McGroger) to add to my collection?
