RNVR First World War
« on: Monday 19 January 26 21:29 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if someone could help me decipher the attached record. I assume Victory IV was the training establishment and he ended up in Portnahaven. He was a signalman.

Struggling with the middle line. I wonder if this is another shore based establishment but would appreciate a fresh pair of eyes.

The snip you have posted is too small to see easily.
To make it more difficult, you have chopped off column headings and end of lines.
You make no mention of name, date or place, so it is not possible to look up the record. You didn't provide a link.   :'(

Second line looks like "Pres III (Scottish) N' sector "
Milligan - Jardine – Glencross – Dinwoodie - Brown: (Dumfriesshire & Kirkcudbrightshire)
Clark – Faulds – Cuthbertson – Bryson – Wilson: (Ayrshire & Renfrewshire)
Neale – Cater – Kinder - Harrison: (Warwickshire & Queensland)
Roberts - Spry: (Cornwall, Middlesex & Queensland)
Munster: (Schleswig-Holstein & Queensland) and Plate: (Braunschweig, Neubruck & Queensland & New York)

Thank you for this. I will explore what

Pres III (Scottish) N Sector might mean in terms of ship posting location

Pres 111 is the pay and admin dept for the RNVR - not an actual ship it was a "stone frigate"

I think he will have been shore based at a Telegraph station up on (Islay)  Portnahaven on the coast of Scotland
He may well have seen some tragedy with these two US Troopship losses
