Yes I think that Samuel's father might be James. Annoyingly mother wasn't recorded on baptism record. Tracing possibly siblings of Samuel and looking for marriage records might be useful in case Samuel was a witness somewhere. Unfortunately he marked his own marriage record with X so we won't have signatures to compare.

Thank you I have added in James tentatively as being the father of Samuel as it does seem to fit having done further searches and from what you found I am so appreciative.

I just wanted to say (sorry for carrying on) that I am now almost certain James was Samuel’s father based on the family search information. Once more, thank you so much for your help to be able to use that information to find James. I am so appreciative.
