Can I just say I am really appreciative of all the new information you have provided me based on your advice as I am not too familiar with this I did a search and discovered Samuel and Maria and as some of the information I have received confirms these two particular individuals I have tens to felt added this to my family tree. For some reason when onto my great grandfather Joseph it broke down but thanks to you great people I was able to work back further - bless you.

Has anyone found a marriage for George Garside and Hannah Asquith? Assuming she was a spinster and Samuel Asquith was illegitimate.

Thank you for your help it’s so much appreciated. So far I have starting from my maternal Grandmother thanks to you all

Grandmother : Doris Garside born 17 Jan 1916 Spen Valley Yorkshire
Great Grandfather : Joseph Garside both appx 1882 Spouse Ann Taylor
Great Great Grandfather : George Garside Spouse Hannah Asquith
Great Great Grandfather : Samuel Garside Spouse Maria Garside

I tried going back beyond Samuel but that is proving quite tough there is a possibility his father was possibly James Garside but I haven’t added anything beyond Samuel for now but that said, thank you so much for all this information - you’ve helped to overcome a significant brick wall.

I apologise if I do anything wrong in my writings as I am only very much an amateur at trying genealogy.

Many Thanks

Thank you I saw Ledgard and wondered but I struggled to find much beyond Samuel. I did find sone possibilities but it was a bit complex and not clear enough to make a confident decision on census searches.

Any help,on Samuel’s parents would be much appreciated.
