Such nice news to start the New Year,Caroline, mare and Caw.

Snow all gone now , I ordered extra salt but the cheap packs were sold out so more refined packs, more expensive !
But it does melt ice just as  well.

Decorations all away and the store cupboard tidied.
Some home made mincemeat left ,but sister in law will visit soon so I will save it for then ,either one big tart or mince pies.

Sunny day here but of course cold Brrrrrr!

Son not back yet , he is going to his sister’s where he has stuff in a container ,how good it will be after a couple of years!
There is my grandmother’s bedroom suite from 1894, he loves it ,but would not be top quality ,they were quite poor people .
So 132 years old.
I never met her ,she died in 1916 ,my Dad had just been called up for Military Service, but was give a few days delay until after her funeral.

Well washing to put out for a blow, it won’t be dry but will be nice and fresh.

Look after yourselves.
Viktoria.

Hi All

Oh Mare, that looks nice and pleasant early on, I bet in the middle of the day you would be roasted?

Viktoria, You go steady on any ice or wet surfaces. I do hope the family furniture and items stored in a container are alright.

Roobarb says she has been tidying her drawers, I wonder if there was method or a reason (lost 'phone number, Invite, or a Prize Draw ticket to the Ball).

L.M., I hope you are fighting on and managing to keep as well as possible.

Caroline enjoy your family, having family living away is a quite wrench.

Gillg, take care walking across the fields, it is still cold and it could take someone a while to find you, if you stumbled.

RTL, I do hope your situation improves and you can get some well earned sleep.

Jebber and BumbleB, hope all is okay and you are looking forward to the new year.

Milliepede, good idea to keep the stairs well lit, don't do what I did ...

I have two-way switching for landing light, but went up my stairs in the dark quite recently with hands on rails and thought I had one more step to go, put my foot down and nothing there (my other foot was already on the landing) and I stumbled and reached forward hitting my hand hard against the bathroom door frame and got away with it.

I lifted some family history notes on the table and found a safety pin that I knew I had mislaid and couldn't find.

No outside photo today, been in bed this afternoon with first cold (or whatever it is) for quite some years.

Opened a tin of Pineapple (not suitable for some types of blood medication) for the Bromelain in the pineapple, also had Ginger Green Tea and Pure Green Tea (contains Epigallocatechin Gallate). Ginger and Tangeretin are both on a long list of covid (immune response) natural neutraliser names.

Also opened tin of peaches and rinsed off juice (as I suspect it has sugary syrup in) for the Vit K mainly (clotting), as I have a slight trace of a nose bleed, but Blood Pressure fine.

I'm glad I wasn't on that flight to Tenerife from Birmingham (BHX) UK, near the end of December last, involved in a turbulance incident. I heard they were serving, one had a seizure, a few had minor injuries and others suffering severe distress and the Pilot requested a return to the UK.

But after my 2020 illness my immune system is triggered a lot more easily, it would only need someone to get on the plane with the wrong perfume, to have used certain fabric softeners in their clothing wash, a cold, or if the aircraft was new and the furnishings, plastics, fabrics and carpets were releasing synthetic odours or manufacturing chemicals.

Twenty years ago some Insurers refused me Travel cover back then.

It is easier to tell people I don't like flying.

I did my travels when I was younger and really glad I did, most countries of Europe.

Here I am 40 years ago in Corfu, on a hired Honda, I had no gear, no boots and I don't advise the footwear, nor riding bikes in bare skin.

Take care all, Mark

Wow, like the picture Mark.

You are very considerate like most RC's  concerned about how they all are, I think we are all like that, friends, but we can't put faces to the names, one I can who I met a few years ago.

I went out on a rampage today,  first time out really  but I was on the look out for my Christmas stall for the church, I was like a thing possessed,  in one large shop I bought goods to the value of £19.00 for 1.90, how's  that for bargains, ? soft toys in a card shop 75% off, I  have done so well,  sadly I had to BUY   carrier bags, against the grain for me as they say, I took 3 with me but came home on the bus with 5 bags , must have looked like a bag lady

Sleep well, sure I will after  todays rampage

Cheeky!  ;D Nothing so interesting Mark, was just staying home and getting on with things I don't often get round to, due to the icy roads and pavements and a prima donna of a car that refuses to go anywhere when it's the least bit slippery.  :-\

Happy memories of Corfu eh? I love the Greek islands.

Fantastic bargains LM, well done.

Goodness me Mark.. you have to go some lengths to stay healthy..sorry to hear that.. but you have a good sense oh humour and that goes along way!

LM I’m impressed you managed to get on the bus with 5 bags.. good bargains too.

Mare, my son lives in Brisbane..well south of it in Birkdale… they’re having very hot humid weather, hope he’ll be prepared for our weather in March.. it can still be changeable..

Mark - Fab pic of you on your bike 40 yrs ago…  carefree days in the sun and it’s great biking around the islands… we’ve done that .. no helmets, flip flops on or sandals happy memories.

Well it absolutely poured last night so all the snow ( icing sugar covering I’d call our) gone.. not sure what the next few days are going to bring but no golf for OH tomorrow as course is closed..

House looks spick and span after a thorough clean.. well downstairs. Upstairs tomorrow oh what an exciting life 😂😂.. then the ironing to do..

But I did enjoy cooking today.. I made carrot, sweet potato and bean soup and our Thai green curry which was delicious, I make a cucumber, red pepper, carrot and sprung onion salad with roasted cashews and a hot red pepper dressing.
Tomorrow it’s tempura tiger prawns and noodles.

Off to read my book now ..
hope all is well with everyone.

Enjoy your visitors Caroline, the menu sounds delicious.

Committee  meeting  cancelled tonight as bad weather expected, well it is dull and quite mild in my opinion, cancelled for next week.

Oh you are all so busy, many thanks for your interesting news folks, and sensible precautions for the forecast extreme weather .

Just interrupted a grey squirrel, on my way to the bins, it shot off but I had some outdated dried fruit, not sure if they eat that but birds will so put some out .
Dreadful weather forecast ,especially the S,E. not sure how son is getting on with his sorting out the container!

All stocked up after Tesco delivery,  I might be eating chicken curry with lasagne - but it is food.!

Must phone a few friends ,living alone ,just a friendly word ,I can’t do much else but we have been friends from our early twenties .

Thanks again for your cheery news folks . Look after yourselves .
Viktoria.

Great photo of those memorable carefree days, Mark, hope you're feeling OK with a bit of Tai chi and  that the cold symptoms haven't taken hold.

Stay safe all in weather related treacherous conditions. Sounds like the warm kitchen is a great place for some lovely interesting creations  :) It was a bit warm for cooking here this week but got by, did some schnitzel for the first time in ages ... well I also know it was a long time going by the date I had written on the last lot of dried breadcrumbs I'd made! used them anyway and all good. Enjoying plenty of fresh seasonal produce ...

Friday has come around rather quickly again, lovely clear morning for walk before heat of the day, looking forward to having daughters here today and tomorrow.
