Thomasin WHITE 1756-??
« on: Sunday 04 January 26 07:13 GMT (UK) »
Thomasin COITE was baptised at St Winnow on 6 Feb 1756, a daughter of Bemjamin COITE and Mary COBLEDICK. On 13 Jul 1777 she married William WHITE at St Winnow. They lived in Bridgend in St Winnow.

William and Thomasin had four children that I have been able to find in St Winnow baptisms.
Mary 1778-1780
William 1781-??
Mary 1784-1853 married John CLEMENCE in 1803
John 1787-1853 Was in the army, with Mary Clements in 1841 and 1851

Can anyone find a death/burial for her. A number of trees on Ancestry have a death date of 10 Feb 1850, but nothing is showing up on FreeBMD or GRO. Not the Thomasin buried 1826 in Constantine.

Some trees on Ancestry have her in Devon in 1851, but that was a 7 year old. A number of trees also have children born after 1787 in Lostwithiel and other parishes. Again do not believe those are the right family.

I have the burials 1813-1837 from CFHS and she is not in there. There appear to be no St Winnow burials on FreeReg. No burials online between 1782 and 1812. Husband William is, he died in 1834.

Believe she may have died after the birth of John. No other WHITE children baptised in St Winnow after him.

Thanks

Findmypast index a burial of Thomasin White at St Winnow in 1812, but I don't have any further info about it.

Lostwithiel where the further baptisms occur is right next door to St Winnow.
Couple of settlement exams there in 1811

Examination, William White the younger, Lostwithiel
Examination of William White the younger regarding the parish of legal settlement. He was born in the parish of St Winnow in the County, and at the age of eighteen years he was bound an apprentice by indenture to Mr Thomas Foster to the trade of a currior.

On FamilySearch

Also this one :-\
Examination, Richard White, tailor, Lostwithiel

Maybe scrub that Richard White exam, he might have been an old man.

Marriage at Lostwithiel in 1808 of William White, Currier, and Jenifer Rowe.
Both of the Parish.
Witnessed by a William White (senior perhaps)
Everybody signed

Quite a few trees on Ancestry have this William and Thomasin mixed up with my William and Thomasin.

Constantine and St Winnow are quite some distance apart. Doesn't help when they have children with the same names.

Had a look on Findmypast at this burial. A transcript with date as 3 July 1812, but no age given.

Nothing to confirm it is her but probably is. The other Thomasin WHITE who died in 1826 was in Constantine which is quite a distance from St Winnow.
