If you look at Google Maps it doesn't look like Higher Albert Street, although I am not sure if 23 is still there or the garages have been built where it stood. Admittedly the street is on a hill and the picture looks as though it could be on a hill.

There is no large scale OS map revision between 1914 and 1962.

Put these two in a split screen.  On the 1914 map there is a substantial building with a glass roof behind Higher Albert Street, between nos 11 & 13 (house numbers from the later map).  By 1962 there is a factory on that site.  In 1914 there was also a building nearer the road which could be the one in the left background.

When was the factory built?  Was he working just down the road from his house?
