William & Elizabeth Shortland
« on: Tuesday 30 December 25 23:04 GMT (UK) »
This couple was married in Eaton Socon, Bedfordshire in 1692 and might have moved to St. Neots.

Can anyone help me?

Hi Rosie99:

I know Elizabeth Shortland (nee Wright/Right) was my nth-great aunt.   She was mentioned in her sister's will and her mother's will but that's it.   Her sister, Susan Turner, died in St. Neots in 1735, and her other sister, Barbara King, died in St. Neots in 1753.   Since the Shortland's don't seem to be in FreeREG or FamilySearch, I think they might also have been in St. Neots -- since their records don't seem to be included in either database.

I guess I was wondering if someone could have a look in the St. Neots registers for them.

Thanks for this Colin.   I looked at other Shortlands in the same area and it seems they are associated with Samuel Shortland, clockmaker.   I wonder if the "William" you found was written in error by the vicar.

I am only seeing the burials from the NBI for St Neots for that period on FindMyPast.  It does look as though they may only be available from the local FHS.
