Hello All

RTL, I do hope your Grandson makes a good recovery. I am very sorry that you are having great difficulty sleeping and after your mishap on the stairs, you sound very exhausted.

Employers were supposed to care about staff welfare, but I saw little of it and you really do have my deepest sympathy.

I was falling asleep at work and they had me in the Office threatening me with dismissal if I couldn't keep up, but I was exhausted, so I wrote asking for ill-health retirement which was acknowledged by letter.

Their own Occ Health G.P., listened to me and sent me for a brain scan and then they could see why I had this terrible trouble.

After my scan they said I was incapable and sacked me whilst awaiting a Medical Opinion (in breach of their formal Pension procedure Rules).

My Trade Union took them to the Appeal Panel and my employer lost.

Louisa, I hope your husband's eye operation is successful.

Viktoria, I hope all is working as it should and settling nicely.

Yes, Gillg has more sun and milder weather, than Roobarb's chilly coastal location where bracing winds blow in!

I seem to recall Bournemouth on the South-coast had palm trees or similar?

Mark

A very Happy New Year to all and hope a healthier one for anyone suffering…

I too hope all goes well for your grandson RTL … already sent a PM to you..

Cold day today so stayed indoors and resting as not had the best few days health wise so hoping the NY brings improvements!

LM your OH is brave having both cataracts done at the same time but the benefits are wonderful…

Bushinn - sounds like your employers was jumping the gun a bit but at least you got the right results but maybe not health wise…

Take care all
