This is the baptism of Anne Du vivier in 1612.
I would be grateful if somebody can make out the godparents' names.
This is what I have:
Le 5 em d’aust fut baptisé anne fille de piere du vivier et Marye berquen
p(arein) Gilles(?) nicquet ? ? Jeanne(?) Helbert Marye le fevriere(?)I think it might be 'Gilles' Nicquet as I know there was a Gilles Nicquet around this time in Montreuil sur Mer. In fact there were two of them. There's no clue as to which one here.
I also compared the first letter of his name with that of 'Guillaume' above - they look like the same letter.
I am re-visiting the family of Marie Berquen, as I'm not happy with the information I have as it stands. I thought I'd do a wider sweep to see if I can find anything else.
There have been posts on this before, mostly here:
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=878326.0Some information found gives her as the daughter of Tristan/Christain de Berquen, wife
Jeanne Helbert. This baptism was in 1599 in Monreuil sur Mer - see the linked post, as joger had to out this on a French paleography forum to get it transcribed!.
There's no indication she was born much before the baptism, so this would make her only 13 at the time of Anne's birth. But the entries are very brief, so there is always that possibility.
Her sister was Martine de Berquen, baptised 1601. She married about 1624 Francois Pruvost.
Luckily 'Martine' is a more unusual name, and any records found for her are for the same person.
The Anne du Vivier of the above baptism had a brother Francois. No baptism found for him, but he married in 1657. Contract in Rodiere manuscripts, in which Marie de Berquen/Berquoy is his mother, and Martine de Berquen is given as his 'aunt'.
This gives credence to the idea that Marie was the daughter of Tristan de Berquen.
Marie de Berquen, 'wife of Pierre du Vivier' died in 1663. No age given in the M sur M register. They had some 10 children, the last in the early 1630s, so she can't have been born much before 1585 say.
Other information gives her as the daughter of Francois de Berquen, (Tristan's father) He was married in 1554. His wife Philipotte Gougibus was probably born about 1534. It's unlikely, though not impossible, that this Marie was their child. No baptisms found for them.
I go round and round in circles!
