Thank you so much for all your effort. I will look into the Birmingham link.

As some have mentioned, it is so sad he was placed in a children's home.

Anything is possible with respect his religion, he may well have been catholic!

I just found it strange that Hubert was living with Thomas Southall in 1891 and listed as his grandson, also noticing the housekeeper was Rebecca Jackson. I was curious as to whether Rebecca had a child hat had a relationship with a child of Thomas, hence being listed as a grandson on the census. I did see other children of Thomas and his wife Harriet on earlier census'. Incidentally, Hubert's first daughter was named Clara.

I will keep searching!
