I copied Hubert's date of birth from a family member, which I now realise was not a good thing to do.

Was he perhaps a home child and sent to Canada 1897:?
If I have the correct family Rebecca Jackson maiden name Parker
He might have been the child of one of her children
Rebecca is with Thomas Southall on the 1881 census

Rosie

Added Hubert Jackson aged 8 was with a group of children from Middlemore Children's homes Birmingham 1897
Sent to Canada

Following his marriage, he remained on the east coast of Canada. I am researching this info for his grand daughter, she is now 90.
