Jackson
« on: Saturday 27 December 25 15:07 GMT (UK) »
Looking for parents of Hubert Henry Jackson, born 14 Feb 1889. He appears on 1891 census as the grandson of Thomas Southall, and a Rebecca Jackson is listed as the housekeeper!!  Hubert emigrated to Canada and married Ivy Durkee. I would really like to know who his parents were.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks

Was he perhaps a home child and sent to Canada 1897:?
If I have the correct family Rebecca Jackson maiden name Parker
He might have been the child of one of her children
Rebecca is with Thomas Southall on the 1881 census

Birthdate given above is 14.2.1889 which would rule out a birth registered in the December qtr.

There is a Hubert Jackson aged 8 - departed Liverpool 1897 - ship Assyrian - arrived in Halifax Nova Scotia 15 July 1897.

I cannot find that he travelled with family - only numerous other male children.

A tree on Ancestry has his parents as Thomas Jackson & Annie Maud Pierce

Maple - what document do you have which shows his birthdate as 14.2.1889

I know I was miles out but it was just a coincidence of his Christian  names.
