Ramshaw - trying to link potential siblings
« on: Friday 26 December 25 13:40 GMT (UK) »
My greatx5 grandfather was Robert Ramshaw b. 1816 Pelton, coal miner, who married to Eleanor Coxon in 1839. His father’s name was Joseph Ramshaw. He went to the USA in 1869.

1841: John St, Kelloe w/ wife Eleanor & daughter Mary
1851: Main St, Monk Hesledon w/ wife Eleanor, children Edward, Jane Joseph
1861: Dragon Villa, St Giles w/ wife Eleanor, children Jane, Edward, Joseph, Francis, Mary A, Robert

Next door to him were Joseph Ramshaw & Elizabeth Laing nee Ramsay, who I think could be his siblings.

Elizabeth Ramsay b. 1818 Penshaw. She married Joseph Ritchie in 1836 and then William Laing in 1838 at Newcastle. Her father was named as Joseph Ramsay. However, in 1871 census at Low Moorsley her father is named as Joseph Ramshaw, b.1791 at Callerton.

1841: Quarry Row, Kelloe w/ husband William & dau Ann
1851: Houghton-le-Spring w/ William & children Ann, Marshall, John, Joseph
1861: Dragon Villa w/ William & children Marshall, John, Joseph, William, Robert, Jane A
1871: Low Moorsley w/ William & father Joseph Ramshaw

Joseph Ramshaw b. 1825 Northumberland. (Just started researching him so my only info is the 1861 census)
1861: Dragon Villa, living w/ wife Jane and dau Elizabeth (6)

I would like to try and find if these three could be connected in any way. Any help is appreciated  :)
