Just for the record, 10 June 1720 was the date William Austin paid the tax. Thomas Hutchinson's apprenticeship had begun on 7 April 1720.

Thanks for the correction. Most of the leading Hutchinson family in Rotherfield Yeomen/gentry, so do you think this Thomas was likely an orphan with no father mentioned?
Hutchinson - Sussex; Underwood - Marylebone; Ensor - Marylebone; Bemmer - Middlesex/Prussia; Groocock - Husbands Bosworth; Hale - Stanstead Abbotss/Brentford; Price - Middlesex;

Thanks for the correction.

There are two dates in June 1720.

It was me that corrected you.

The date is entered incorrectly, it is 1719.

This is not true either...

He is the only entry that does not have "son of...".

The Thomas of Rotherfield buried 1731 is a different person

Nobody suggested it was your person.

mine died in Hooe in 1755

Why do you think that your Thomas Hutchinson who was in Hooe might be Thomas of Rotherfield who was apprenticed in 1720?

... do you think this Thomas was likely an orphan with no father mentioned?

Impossible to say from this record alone. The premium may have been paid by another relative, or by a local benefactor. It certainly wasn't a parish poor-law apprenticeship, as those were not subject to tax.

Could it be that the Thomas Hutchinson who was apprenticed in East Grinstead in 1720 was the Thomas who was later in Hartfield, married to Jane.

1744
Upon the appeal of the Parishoners of the Parish of East Grinsted in the said County from an Order or Warrant of two of his Majesty's Justices of the peace of the said County for removing of Thomas Hutchinson and Jane his wife from the parish of Hartfield in the said County to the said parish of East Grinsted

The Thomas who died in 1755 in Hooe was married to Sarah.
