Death Margaret Lumsden, Nov 27, 1906, New Edinburg, District of Russell
« on: Monday 15 December 25 19:23 GMT (UK) »
Margaret Lumsden, nee Duncan, was the daughter of Thomas Duncan and Catherine Johnston. She married a lumbar baron, MPP for Ottawa, named Alexander Lumsden, who died Aug 5, 1904 while Margaret died Nov 27, 1906 in New Edinburg, District of Russell, Ontario, Canada.
Margaret had a brother Thomas who was born Nov 20, 1944 and nothing more is heard of Thomas after the 1861 census for Gloucester Township, when Thomas is age 16, a laborer.
Perhaps the obituary for Margaret would mention her brother Thomas if he is still alive and where.
Thanks for any help

The Beechwood Cemetery Record states
Margaret died at Philadelphia, NY USA of Stanley Avenue, Ottawa Ontario. Intestinal Obstruction
age 63 years 6 months 5 days

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania not NY unless it's the name of a hotel.

This appears to be the family of Thomas and Catherine in the 1851 census. Courtesy of Library and Archives Canada.

Margaret is age 10, Thomas age 8…

Thank you, amondg, polarbear, and Sandra. That is strange, amondg, about the Beechwood Cemetery record. I have that she died at  New Edinburg, District of Russell.
That must be a different Thomas Duncan in 1851 with wife Harriet. My Thomas Sr was married to Catherine Johnston formerly Ritchie whereas Thomas Jr was only 7 yr. old. That is the correct family in 1851, polarbear.
Thomas Sr. did pass in 1886, Sandra, but I am afraid that his obituary is unreadable to me. The page says that “You have reached your 5-article limit”. Thanks for trying.

Thanks so much, Sandra. This obituary came through loud and clear. I was able to figure out that his daughter Laura Margaret was Mrs. Wilfred Bond (who died 13Oct 1953) but was unable to figure out whether his daughter Ida or Lilly was the other living daughter.
His brother David died Nov 14,1941 in Winnipeg.
Isabella Loucks died one month after Robert in Ottawa on Sept 26, 1937.
Although Robert’s father Thomas did not mention any living children on June 25, 1886, would you be able to resend his obituary this same way?
Perhaps the obituary of Robert’s Brother Alexander who died April 18, 1916 in Toronto might mention the missing brother Thomas.
Thank you so very much again. Peggy
