Scan is dire but I am reasonably sure the above is correct
There is a likely marriage reg
George LOGAN and Ethel M Peacock
Marriages Q3 1932 Gateshead 10a 1753
and Gateshead registrars (who are high on my list of super helpful people)
confirm that the ages I gave them (from the d.o.b. on 1939 register) were a match with the marriage record
and the groom was a widower, bride was single.
Which is very puzzling as they are in the same household in 1939 and he's down as a widower and she's single ??
Did they misinterpret what was required? Was it an error? There is a redacted entry which is likely to be a child of this marriage born 1938, but I can't yet find a death reg. Search for births 1932-1939, surname Logan, mmn Peacock will get the birth reg
George did not leave a will so no probate and Ethel May was granted administration of his estate.

Ethel May did not leave a will either and administration of her estate was granted to a married woman (see probate calendar for her name as I believe its the daughter of George and Ethel but she may still be alive).
Still drawing a blank with George Alder Logan :-(
