George Alder Logan
« on: Monday 15 December 25 12:43 GMT (UK) »
 ;D happy christmas

I'm looking for George Alder Logan who was born about 1915 and lived in Chevington Drift. His brother Robert died during the 2nd world war and his 2 youngest siblings died shortly after they were born but....I can't seem to find George after WW2.

I know he went to America in 1923 but obviously came back to the UK and after that I have no idea where he went.

If anyone here is related to him, or knows how to find him, please let me know

If he was only born in 1915 - what were the circumstances of his going to America in 1923?

There is an outgoing passenger list 1923 for a George Logan b 1915 but it is to Quebec.  He appears to originate from the IOM & travelling with parents George & Isabel

The FindMyPast records are not straightforward.

George, age 33, East Chevington travelled on the Caronia.

Note - East Chevington appears against George, Isabella and George Jnr. Assuming it is linked to Chevington Drift?

Added - Chev Drift is the family in 1921. George Snr's addrss against the Caronia is "East Chevington, Morpeth"

I appreciate all the replies, but I already had the 1923 info, he was travelling with his family to visit his grandfather who was living there and they intended to become permanent residents.....what i want  to know is...what happened to him after 1945?

They returned on the Scythia from New York, arriving Liverpool 24 Dec 1927.
George Logan, a miner, age 39
George, child, age 13
Robert, child, age 7
intended address for all 3 is East Chevington, Morpeth
Can't see Sarah on that same ship

I suspect you have all this, but just in case (I think Sarah's maiden name was Walker?) -
Newcastle Evening Chronicle, 2 July 1940

There's a George Logan, born 1888 at 11 Marshes House, Bedlington on the 1939 Register

But George Jnr very elusive.
