Jacqueline is of course the feminine form of Jacques. Jacques is the French equivalent of James, both being derived from the Latin Jacobus.

Hence a possible translation of Jacqueline as James.

TreeSpirit please help me out, I have spent hours trying to replicate your search for this record without success, will you please walk me through the process, it would appear to have been done using Search/Records but this does not take me to your record ?
Thank you, Gordon.

There are various indices available:

Via the (yearly) index that is included before the 1818 births:

Via the ten-yearly birth index (1813-1823):

Via the search function of the Belgium archives:

Tree Spirit - thank you, so it would appear that you did not find the record using the 'Search' facility on Family search but by going directly to one of these indices/records and then looking for the name of a Brown birth in the year in question.

I tried every way in 'search' even using the information that you have shared and it never came across the record.
So at least now I can look for other Brown using the links you provided.
