My Gran in the Newcastle Evening Chronicle
« on: Thursday 11 December 25 18:40 GMT (UK) »
Evening everyone,

The other night I was scrolling through newspapers on FindMyPast, putting random family members names in (as you do on a cold December night!) and I came across one for my late Gran, Marion Wilkinson. I know this is definitely her as her address was next to her name.

She was in the Newcastle Evening Chronicle in the 'Gloopers club' part of the newspaper. I was wondering what this club was all about and maybe someone on here might be able to shed some light on it?

There is also 'Uncle Nick's Special Postbag' included in it?

Her short story (written in 1931 when she was 10 years old) won a 'postbag prize' that week and was published. I shall attach it here for anyone interested to read! (Let me know what you think!  :))

Thanks for any help!
SkyeSpotter.
