I am trying to find info on the above.
He served in ww1 in Royal field Artillery as a Driver so his rank was dvr p Mooney service number 93077 and was awarded the three ww1 medals.

His service record does not appear to have survived. You have probably already seen his medal index card which tells you that he first arrived in France on 14 Jul 1915, which is why he was entitled to  the 1914-15 Star. Since there is no casualty report or Commonwealth War Graves Commission entry for him it appears that he survived the war.
You didn't mention his first name but I assume you know it was Patrick.

Ancestry appear to have his documents - a bit tattered!!

Patrick Mooney - born 1878, demobbed 15 June 1919, address given as 59 High Street, Dumbarton - single.  Letter with address of 25 Gordon Street, Whiteinch, Glasgow asking for a copy of his discharge.  :-\

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Tattered?? They survived partially Burnt in the September 1940 Blitz of the Arnside Street Repository where it had been  safely stored for 20 years.  -He was awarded Pip Squeak and Wilfred as he went Overseas to France 14 July 1915 not 1914 - his Attestation in 1914 shows he had served his Full Term as a Soldier in the Argyle and Southern Highlanders probably after 1908
