Gosh his father James also died at sea Nov 13 1894. Pleurisy and congestion of the lungs.

James??
The Essex family, mother Ann is a Widow, and you said in opening post his father was Robert, who I can see in  Scottish census transcripts.  So he died before 1871, and was not named James.

Blimey Shaun! you might well ask. How the heck did I manage to write Richard in the subject box?
(The original subject box - Richard Clark died Liverpool.) Hopefully I have managed to modify it now.
Thanks Shaun.

When are the family in Essex?

1871 census

Registration District   West Ham
Sub-registration district   Stratford
ED, institution, or vessel   13
Household schedule number   161
Piece   1626
Folio   51
Page number   32

I had assumed you had that since you implied you had him in 1871 in your opening post.  Sorry about that.

Also, 1871 for Christina Martin’s family

Registration District   West Ham
Sub-registration district   Stratford
ED, institution, or vessel   12
Household schedule number   285
Piece   1626
Folio   24
Page number   44

I will leave the rest up to you.

I would imagine Christins’s mother is Isabella nee Anderson
Note the Ann Clark niece with John & Isabella Martin 1891.  Should this be granddaughter?
In which case where is she in 1881? (And 1891 etc)

Also,
Isabella is probably the death in 1904

Deaths Jun 1904
Martin    Isabella    89    W. Ham    4a   78

Where is she in 1901?

I just assumed they were living in Liverpool at that time 1871.

1871 is the same year his father, Robert Clark senior, left for Australia with his wife and some of Robert juniors siblings. (And that's another long story.)
