Deceased ancestor
« on: Saturday 06 December 25 21:38 GMT (UK) »

Hello. I am looking into finding more information about - George Ralphs (with a S on the end) born 1900. He was one of 9 children (6 boys and 3 girls) to George and Margaret Jane (Rathbone).

On the 1911 census they lived at 12 Bird St, Higher Ince, Wigan

He enlisted at Bolton into the 53rd (Young Soldiers) Battalion on 9 April 1918 aged 18 years and 21 days.

This is all I can find and hope someone can help with more information

I posted info from the 1939 register then lost it.
It looks like your man's birth in 1900 was with the surname Ralph , no s, and that is also how they are recorded in 1901 and 1939 register which has George born 13 March 1900 working in a Steel works, his wife Alice and, daughter Marie born 1926 and son John. He's still single living with his parents in 1921 and the surname is again recorded as Ralph.
Marriages June 1/4 1923
George Ralph and Alice White Wigan    8c/162
You can use FreeBMD to find the births of their children using the mother's maiden name. Daughter Marie married a Hamersley according to the 1939 register.
