Does anyone know anything about Eliza McKenzie, born c1816 in Ross-shire (Knockbain, possibly)?
I believe her parents were Barbara Morrison McLeod and John McKenzie.
I'm particularly keen to know about any siblings she had.
Thank you.

www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
is the site to use for bmd's It has a free index but you have to buy credits to download any documents. It is not a subscription site
Look for births with those parents names using the Old Parish Registers (OPR'S) for births before 1854
When & where did she marry? Who did she marry? Have you found her on any census to confirm her details?
If she died in Scotland 1855 or later her death cert will have her parents names

Thanks Carole. Yes, I am looking elsewhere as well but I was hoping someone else might also be researching that branch of the family.
The confusing thing is that it seems Eliza (daughter of John McKenzie) married John Mackenzie. I don't know when or where.
Any extra information would be much appreciated.

What is your connection to her? Are you descended from one of her children?

I think it's more likely my connection is through one of her siblings.
