Help with occupation on 1753 baptism entry

Hello,

I have come across the attached entry in the All Saints’ Church baptism register, but I am struggling to make out Joseph Wilby’s occupation in the 9 February entry.

In another entry, on 04 Jan 1750/1, if it is the same person, his occupation is recorded as Suliber, another occupation which I am unfamiliar with.

I wouldd be grateful if you could help me with these occupations.

First image - "A Dictionary of Old Trades, Titles and Occupations" suggests

courage bater - someone who castrates cattle and other animals (see also master bater).
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

Could "Suliber" be a corruption of, or a phonetic rendering of, “Slubber”?

Agree with Janet. From https://www.worldthroughthelens.com/family-history/old-occupations.php A "Slubber" operated the machine used to prepare cotton for spinning. There was also a "slubber doffer". :)
