o so I wouldn't see the parents names or ages of the persons getting married if they new how old they would be. thanks

I think you have to buy it though, because you never know,  I have one from 1798. Not so much later than you are looking at.   It has names of both parties, name and occupation of brides father, and the fact he is deceased.

The entries are similar on the page. One groom is a soldier. The bride’s father is also a soldier, it names both their regiments.

I was giving mine as an example of what MIGHT be there.  Even though it probably won’t.
I was trying (poorly) to say that in the interests of completeness you should get the record. Because you never know what hint (or not) might be offered.

And, you are likely to end up with a page of entries.  One of which MIGHT offer a clue too.  You just do not know.

There is also the possibility of finding further details in the minutes of the kirk session or the accounts, especially if a child was known to be expected before the marriage or was born too soon afterwards. These minutes are free to read.
