CROW and THYNNE in Gateshead - 1841 and 1851
« on: Friday 16 September 05 12:53 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for a William Halliday CROW (b. 1830) in Gateshead, probably the Oakwellgate area.  His parents may be Ralph and Barbara but I'm hoping the census entries will help confirm that.  When he married in 1852 in Gateshead his residence was given as Oakwellgate and his occupation as Smith.  I know there were a lot of CROWs in Gateshead, all smiths, so I'm really trying to confirm who his parents were.
I am also looking for his wife Frances THYNNE, who was also resident in this area of Gateshead.  She was born in Dundee, Scotland and her father was Robert THYNNE, an anchor smith.
As always, any assistance would be hugely appreciated

Thanks for this John.  I'm fairly sure this is the correct family, but I think I need to find William's baptism record to be 100% sure.  This gives me an assumption to work on that I can either prove or disprove.
