Thanks.L.M.
Well been sorting out paperwork all day ,need my tax return doing .Anyone would think I am a millionaire!
I pay 25% of my work’s pension in tax,and I had to pay in each month to get a pension.
Well the fire repair man came yesterday ,could not make it Saturday but has done a good  job I feel .
I have not lit it myself yet as I still can’t smell!

Son off to head office on Weds,  so a pile of ironing tomorrow to do for him,he is so busy with his work I don’t expect him to do it. A good T,V programme and it is a doddle.

Not tested  my repaired cooker yet ,but some over ripe bananas will be in a banana loaf tomorrow.
Usually do that in my little cooker but it is slowly dying so a bit unreliable now.

Another wet day but milder.
Hope all are managing to keep warm .
Cheerio.Viktoria.

Morning all.

Hope you are still taking it a bit easier Viktoria   still early days.

After a really horrible  day yesterday the sky is blue and sun out, looks like a nice day, we can but hope.

I went to Bluewater   in Kent  yesterday, clocked up my steps I must say ! , didn't buy anything but I  helped my friend to spend her money,  i am good at that, bit of an escapade  on the bus,  we heard bang and  we thought the bus had hit the roundabout,  then we heard a siren noise,  the driver came to our seat and it was the safety  lock on the door that can be opened in an emergency, don't think I would have noticed my friend disappearing  through the door if it had opened, might have just been in time to grab her ankle, well,  it was a laugh as to be  honest I don't think  the door would have opened unless pushed, but all was well.

Enjoy your day folks, run down to my bazaar so I have a busy week,

Take care.

Not sure where to put this one.
I am trying to get hold of the Salvation Army Tune Book Volume 1 published 2015. It is already out of print and no sign of being reprinted. SA seem to be providing the tunes separately- at a cost.
I wonder if anyone has a spare copy which I might purchase- all costs defrayed.
I have volume 2 published at the same time and when I ordered them both they sent 2 copies of volume 2!
Help please!!!!!!

A beautiful sunny day but very cold.  I spent most of it Christmas shopping in our nearest city, which was full of people, who mainly seemed to have prams. pushchairs, walking frames and sticks and (wait for it, Viktoria) so called invalid carriages.  No shortage of cash among them - everyone was loaded with shopping bags.  I do hope it's not all "on tick", as it will have to paid for after Christmas.  There was hardly any room on the pavements and between the  aisles in the shops, so shopping was a nightmare, but I managed to get some stocking fillers and my present from my husband - a pair of boots!  I'm afraid I shall have to go again next Monday to do the rest.
What do you buy for 14 year old boys these days?  It's just stocking fillers, as he will want some cash to buy whatever interests him this year.  It's easy to buy some for my granddaughter, though.
Keep warm and well, folks, and Viktoria, don't overdo your new found freedom.  Your arm will tell you if you do. :)
Extra thick chicken and veg soup for supper tonight.  We had roast chicken yesterday, so used all the scraps from that and added potatoes, leeks, peas and beans with lots of herbs.  I always thicken my soup with lentils, which melt away into the hot liquid and thicken it nicely. Mmm...!

MOF that I am, I am so pleased that I don't have a large family, so no real problems for Christmas or birthdays.  8)

Daughter, plus 3 grandchildren who are all late teens, early 20's.  So money for each of them  :)  OH and I don't bother to buy for each other - if there's something we like, then we just buy it at that time.  I do have to admit that it is all getting much worse - did we really start Christmas shopping in November in the past?  AND I'll wait until next week to decorate my porch and bay window.

Just paid out for my green bin collections for next year, so no worries about clearing the garden of rubbish.

All my family are grown up, so like BumbleB they all have money so we are all happy. Only six year old non verbal great granddaughter, her Mum takes her money to buy whatever takes her fancy in the New Year.

Just sharing edibles for everyone else. Postage so expensive and service so bad I’m only sending a few cards by post, local ones will be hand delivered by my helper and granddaughter. Overseas will get E-Cards, cheques to two charities instead.

I’m ahead of you BumbleB, paid for garden bin weeks ago. Like everything else it gets dearer every year. Heaven only knows what else will go up after the Budget tomorrow. ::)

Christmas shopping is not for the feint hearted these days, everyone scurrying around as if the shops will be empty all the while dripping with all sorts of things nobody wants! Bar humbug!!
I try to pick up things when I see them. Grandsons past the toy stage into sport and music.
As an extended family we decided some years ago just to give to the children.. one lot in Singapore so it’s money collectively sent.
We don’t go bonkers with ourselves, tend to buy what we need when we want it.. food and the odd tipple always go down well!
It’s become quite a commercial farce and to much junk bought for the sake of it.

Hope everyone is keeping well ..
