Another cheaper alternative is to download digital copies of both those 1922 birth certs and see which has the right birthdate.  It's a better way as it gives both parents names and a digital copy only costs £3 so total cost £6

If you are going to chase the parish record, Lancashire BMD shows the marriage at Preston, St Aidan - not Bamber Bridge St Aidan.
It’s hard to track the church down, but it seems to be ‘ evangelical C o E’, Elcho Street.

Just to say that there are a couple of newspaper snippets from the 1940s mentioning St Aidan’s, Elcho Street, Preston. It would be worth checking with the archives.
