As mentioned in this earlier video about the MH106 medical records, less than 1% of the original records have been retained. While that still amounts to a lot, when we consider that originally there were 275 tons worth of records,  a tremendous amount were sadly destroyed, not by enemy action as with the WW1 service records, but by archivists who thought that the records had no significant value! Compare this to the recent suggestion from the Ministry of Justice to destroy some original wills and probate records once they had been digitised.
